The Board and Train Program will not short cut the amount of work you will need to put into your dog. However, your dog will be fully trained upon his return.
The Board and Train Program consists of a minimum of two (2) weeks, (average time 6 to 8 weeks, and could go as long as 3 months) boarding of the dog at the instructor"s facility and/or home. There he/she will live as a house dog. Before the end of the program, the dog will attend several group sessions. First, there will be a demonstration of all of the exercises the dog has mastered. Then the owner will be shown how to start working with the dog. While at home, a great deal of time and effort is needed to learn and maintain the proper level of obedience expected from your dog.
It is the owners responsibility to schedule the follow up sessions as needed. You may schedule two (4) follow-up in home session following the conclusion of the board & train program at no additional charge. To keep your dog in top working form, it is important that you work the dog daily for several weeks then about 3 to 4 times a week to maintain training.
In home behavior problems, such as jumping, chewing, digging, play biting, housebreaking, charging the door, running out the door, running in the street, not coming when called, etc. are worked on but not guaranteed upon the return of the dog. The only way these, and other behavior problems can be cured is to address them in the dogs comfort zone, which is his home environment. The owner is taught the correct way to cure these unwanted behaviors within the follow-up period.
The dog will receive a bath, at no charge, before being returned at the end of the program.
