JURIED EXHIBIT DESCRIPTION:
Eligibility: Open to all current members of GNSI-DC chapter
Submission Deadline : Entry must be received via online submission by Sunday May 4, 2014 at 11:59 EDT.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: Sunday May 11, 2014 at 11:59 EDT
Format: Original artwork, gallery quality prints, or multimedia of work created either with traditional or digital techniques or a mix thereof.
Subject: Science or nature-related themes; Judging weight will be given to subjects relating to natural History of Maryland/Chesapeake region. Entries are accepted, up to 2 pieces per member.
Entry fee: $10 $15 per entry. Payments in forms of checks and credit cards accepted.
Frame Size: 16" width or less is highly preferred (gallery space is limited).

Submission Formats:
-JPG or TIF formats preferred: High quality (75/100+).
-Maximum of 1500 x 1500 pixels, no files larger than 5 MB each.
-Only online submissions will be accepted. If you need assistance, please contact Ikumi.
-Provide a brief artist statement and explain how the subject fits into the ecosystems of Maryland/Chesapeake region. Statement should not exceed 250 words or 1000 characters.
Art submission for Catalog:
Once accepted into the exhibition, artists must send a high-res file for printing the catalog at 300dpi in CMYK by July 15. Details will be sent with acceptance letters.
Sales:
Once accepted into the exhibition, artists must make artworks available for sale. Sale of high-quality prints is acceptable. Any artworks sold are subject to a 30% commission and must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Artists bear the responsibility of negotiating with gallery her/his representation if applicable. The Gallery will not ship artwork on behalf of artist or buyer.
Criteria: Only artists maintaining a current membership with GNSI are eligible to apply. While we will do our best to accomodate our members, artists must be willing to deliver or ship artwork to and pick up from Quiet Waters Park at their own expense. All two-dimensional artworks must arrive framed ready to hang with wires. Label information (title, date of creation, dimension of original work, media) and sale price must be marked clearly on the back. Artists juried into the exhibition will receive detailed information and requirements upon notification.
Project Timeline: Deadline for entry: May 4, 2014 May 11, 2014 Acceptances or regrets will be sent via e-mail by July 1, 2014 Artwork Delivered to QWP: No later than August 22, 2014
Juried exhibition: August 27-October 12, 2014.
Opening Reception: Sunday, August 31, 2014 2-4pm.
