CPS 7975 & Completion of CPS Request Form
All Graduate Assistants must enroll in CPS 7975, the graduate assistant seminar class (see schedule for date/time/location for orientation).
Failure to register for this course will result in the loss of the assistantship. The student and faculty member must complete
all
sections of the GA Request Form.
If all sections are not complete, the form will be returned to the faculty member.
Bundling Assistantships
Students may bundle assistantships in order to reach the $2000 threshold for a full tuition waiver for Fall/Spring and $1000 for Summer.
The CPS department only allows Level III assistants to be the instructors. Only Ph.D. students are allowed to hold Level II & Level III assistantships. Therefore, all Ph.D. level Graduate
Research
Assistants are only allowed to hold Level II assistantships. The student may bundle assistantships in order to receive a full tuition waiver.
Master’s level students can only hold Level I assistantships.
If a Master’s Level student wants to obtain a full tuition waiver, the student will need to bundle 2.5 Level I assistantships.
This combination will provide for a full tuition waiver, pay $2,000 (Fall/Spring), $1,000 (Summer).
Students are free to bundle assistantships however, they cannot exceed 50% FTE or 20 hours of work per week.
