This training for CET teachers introduces new certifications, in addition to CompTIA A+, that students can achieve from Computer Engineering Technology - levels 1 & 2.These are: 1) CompTIA IT Fundamentals; Microsoft Technology Associate certifications in 2) Networking and 3) Security fundamentals as well as the updated 4) CompTIA A+ certification. In addition, two additional Microsoft MTA certifications are under review for inclusion.
This course will also introduce the new Arkansas CET frameworks and the alignment among the various certifications. It also introduces the Arkansas CET Moodle, where teacher and student resources will be located. This, for the most part, eliminates the need for textbooks, at the same time builds a professional learning community for CET instructors, Participants will emerge with an understanding of the ExplorNet content and other resources at their disposal, and will have an understanding of how to help students meet certification objectives as well as develop skills to do the work aligned to the certifications.
Participants will emerge with a basic understanding of the QTL content and other resources at their disposal, and will have an understanding of what extra study will be required to help them meet certification objectives. Cost of $1950 for new schools includes the annual $350 renewal fee for teacher/student and Moodle resources; any school that has already paid the renewal pays $1600 for the training.
